What is Choir Camp?

Canticle Choir Camp is a yearly overnight retreat at Whispering Winds Catholic Conference Center in Julian, CA. Older Canticle students aged 12 and up spend time in prayer and recreation, and prepare sacred music for the coming academic year. These students work and play with gusto! This year, Choir Camp will be held August 12-16.

The cost for the camp is $500 per camper, and it runs from Monday to Friday. Cost includes:

• Good meals in a dining hall and lodging in a huge cabin with bunk beds (girls dorm and boys dorm are separate.)  

• Hundreds of mountain acres with lots of space to enjoy, and activities like hiking, swimming, archery, campfires and s’mores, ropes course, zip line, etc. 

• A safe and supportive environment with specialist teachers, parent volunteer supervision, and camp staff.

• Daily Mass, Adoration and/ or Confession

• Daily rehearsals perfecting some of our choir repertoire, plus learning new chants for Mass, plus masterworks like Allegri’s Miserere.

• Daily team-building activities and time for recollection

Students are saving money and working at a spaghetti dinner with their choir friends. Would you or someone you know also be able to help develop the vibrant faith of these students by sponsoring them going to Choir Camp?

Canticle has paid a deposit and hopes to break even on Choir Camp. It is not a revenue stream for us, but rather a holy and healthy way to reward the work of our older students and launch musical gems of the upcoming year. Your donation will allow us to continue to teach sacred music to youth and build up the Church.  All donations are greatly appreciated and may be tax deductible per federal and state regulations.
